I think that the gist of what Mr. Wilkerson is saying is correct. It seems, though, that the contagion of this “accommodating gospel”/antinomianism can be traced to Martin Luther when he said, ‘Be a sinner and sin boldly but believe even more boldly.” Wilkerson is essentially saying the same thing that the Catholic Church has been teaching for the past 2000 years, i.e. God wants to totally transform us soul and body through His grace and the carrying of the cross. I hope that Wilkerson takes a few more steps and comes home to the one true Church that Our Lord Jesus founded which is the Catholic Church. May all glory and praise be to Our Lord Jesus Christ both now and forever.
The Gospel of Christ has indeed been watered down and over simplified. “Sins forgiven and heaven gained.” No genuine repentance from the root of sin. The root that produces the fruit. Me, myself, and I in control and calling the shots! Surrender and obedience are only possible by the grace of Almighty God. DId Wilkerson celebrate Ishatar (Easter) or Christmass like most Christians churches?
I don’t believe on any level that the Catholic Church is the one true church or original. Because Jesus being a Jew didn’t give a name to anything. Man decided. Why? Because people need a name to things to help them understand. Like an ailment or disease. It makes them feel better. And this nonbeliever saying we worship the Bible is laughable bc the Bible is knowledge passed . Yes it has been changed a lot things removed. But connecting with God and asking for enlightenment toward truth is what we look for. Question I have is that it states in the Bible people will go to hell for lack of knowledge. So man doing what they did to the Bible are we going to hell bc of their misdeeds ? That being the removal of what’s really inside? Burning Questions
There has been many different translations of the bible, with some more problematic than others. I personally believe that the King James version is the most complete; however, I trust that God is always in control. When a person finds belief and salvation through Jesus, the Holy Spirit fills them and guides them to understand God’s Word. No matter how many times satan’s minions attempt to alter or discredit God’s Word, the truth will prevail. God has provided us a book that instructs us, and lets know Him.
